MindEdge courses are self-paced and asynchronous, meaning that you can view and complete the content entirely on your schedule at a time that is most convenient.  Knowledge is transferred through reading interactive case studies, watching expert training videos delivered by leaders in the field, participating in hands-on learning exercises, engaging with interactive games, receiving assessments, and studying best practice research.  Course modules may take approximately 3-10 hours to complete while certificates may take 21-60 hours.  Some courses even provide an “Ask the Expert” feature that allows learners to pose course-related questions and receive feedback within 24 hours.

Participants will click on the Add to Cart button for the particular module or certificate for which they would like to register.  Learners will enter their contact information and proceed to the payment method to finalize the transaction.  Registrants will receive access instructions via email.

Please contact Ian Canning, Associate Dean, School of Graduate and Professional Studies at: canningi1@southernct.edu to discuss your options.  Participants paying by corporate credit card can proceed to the registration and payment page.  If paying by check, the University will need a W-9 on file and will invoice your organization for payment.  Please note that all fees must be paid prior to starting any online course.

Learners can download and print a PDF receipt of their transaction from their course records page, accessible after logging into the learning management system. Receipts are accessible anytime, even after access to the course has expired.
Participants may request a refund up to 5 days from the purchase date. The registration fee will only be refunded if less than 10% of the course has been completed.
Learners do not need to have a formal academic credential to participate in an online course, but will want to carefully review the course description to ensure they have the requisite knowledge prior to registration.
Participants do not need to apply to SGPS in order to enroll in an online course.
Participants will receive an email with login instructions immediately following registration and payment in order to gain access to the online course.  Learners will have approximately 30 – 360 days of access depending upon the total anticipated hours for course completion.
Learners can download and print a PDF certificate of completion from their course records page, accessible after logging into the learning management system. Certificates are accessible anytime, even after access to the course has expired.
Mindedge courses are offered as noncredit. Learners typically enroll in noncredit courses for personal enrichment or professional development. Noncredit classes offer individuals the opportunity to learn, grow, and improve professionally without receiving academic credit or a final grade.
Grades are not provided for noncredit classes.  Learners will receive a Certificate of Completion for successfully completing an individual course at a proficiency level of 70%. Upon successful completion of all courses in a particular suite, learners receive a full Certificate of Achievement.
Learners will have approximately 30-360 days to complete the course requirements depending upon the anticipated time to completion.  The “Access Time” is located just below the title of the course or certificate.

Prior to getting started, learners will want to review their software, web browser, and Internet specifications.  For software, learners will need any modern Office Suite, including: Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, OpenOffice, or LibreOffice. You will also need the latest Adobe Reader/Acrobat Reader (free download available at http://www.adobe.com).  For Web Brower, learners will need one of the last three versions of the major browsers, including: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer 11.    While other web browsers may work, they may not render all features of the courses.  Participants will want to be sure to enable all cookies and JavaScript prior to launching the course.  For Internet, learners will need a reliable Internet connection. Broadband cable or high-speed DSL is recommended for optimal experience. In addition, learners will need an email account (to be able to register and to receive e-mail from the course system regarding registration, course status, etc.)  Note: Some courses may have additional hardware and/or software requirements. Any additional requirements will be listed in the course description and course syllabus.
