Are you looking to maximize your potential for career advancement or achieve successful career transition? We can get you there with MindEdge! In collaboration with MindEdge, SCSU can fulfill your need for self-paced, online content in full suite of 12 online professional education courses and certificates.
MindEdge courses are self-paced and asynchronous, meaning that you can view and complete the content entirely on your schedule at a time that is most convenient. Knowledge is transferred through reading interactive case studies, watching expert training videos delivered by leaders in the field, participating in hands-on learning exercises, engaging with interactive games, receiving assessments, and studying best practice research. Course modules may take approximately 3-10 hours to complete while certificates may take 21-60 hours. Some courses even provide an “Ask the Expert” feature that allows learners to pose course-related questions and receive feedback within 24 hours.
Please contact Ian Canning, Associate Dean, School of Graduate and Professional Studies at: canningi1@southernct.edu to discuss your options. Participants paying by corporate credit card can proceed to the registration and payment page. If paying by check, the University will need a W-9 on file and will invoice your organization for payment. Please note that all fees must be paid prior to starting any online course.
Prior to getting started, learners will want to review their software, web browser, and Internet specifications. For software, learners will need any modern Office Suite, including: Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, OpenOffice, or LibreOffice. You will also need the latest Adobe Reader/Acrobat Reader (free download available at http://www.adobe.com). For Web Brower, learners will need one of the last three versions of the major browsers, including: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer 11. While other web browsers may work, they may not render all features of the courses. Participants will want to be sure to enable all cookies and JavaScript prior to launching the course. For Internet, learners will need a reliable Internet connection. Broadband cable or high-speed DSL is recommended for optimal experience. In addition, learners will need an email account (to be able to register and to receive e-mail from the course system regarding registration, course status, etc.) Note: Some courses may have additional hardware and/or software requirements. Any additional requirements will be listed in the course description and course syllabus.
