We are excited to extend an invitation to all faculty, staff, and students at Southern Connecticut State University to join us for a thought-provoking and informative event – the Human Trafficking Awareness Panel Discussion. This event is being hosted by The Underground in collaboration with The Office of Career and Professional Development and the Dean of Students Office, as we believe it is crucial to raise awareness about this pressing issue. Connecticut recorded 456 arrests for human trafficking-related crimes between 2016 and 2021 alone. Imagine how many were not recorded.

Our panel discussion will feature experts and advocates who will share their insights and experiences regarding human trafficking. The discussion will cover the following key topics:

1. Understanding the different forms of human trafficking.
2. Identifying the signs and indicators of human trafficking.
3. Prevention strategies and support for survivors.
4. Opportunities for involvement and advocacy.

To RSVP (although not required) and receive event updates, please register using the following link: Here

Your participation and engagement will contribute to raising awareness about human trafficking, which is a significant step towards preventing it and supporting survivors. We look forward to your attendance.

If you have any questions or require further information, please feel free to contact Rachel Cunningham-Exavier, Office of Career and Professional Development Assistant Director, at Exavierr1@southernct.edu.
