Southern Connecticut State University offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in recreational therapy. The goal of recreational therapy is to help improve quality of life for children and adults with disabilities by using recreational activities and leisure experiences to reach client goals. CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) is a certification that signifies that a recreational therapist has the knowledge, skill, and ability that is well recognized as being essential for the practice of recreational therapy. Our recreational therapy students, both graduate and undergraduate, managed to achieve a 100% pass rate for the credentialing exam between 2023-2024. This accomplishment will allow them to be recognized as a professional to both employers and the public.
