SCSU Noyce
As a Graduate Assistant (GA) working with the SCSU Noyce “OwlsTeach” Scholarship Program, you will be an essential member of the leadership team, and you will work closely with and report to the Noyce Program Director. Your role will primarily be to support the work of recruiting high-quality applicants (SCSU and CT State students) to the Noyce Teaching Scholarship Program. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable learning and experience managing aspects of a federally funded grant project. You will have the opportunity to interact and make social connections with individuals across the university, as well as within the broader CT State Community College System.
The primary duties and responsibilities of this position pertain to
- Noyce email management
- Social media management (including regular posts across Noyce’s four social media accounts)
- Noyce website management and design
- Design/editing of various promotional materials (e.g., digital & paper-based flyers)
The candidate for this position should have excellent communication, written, and collaboration skills, as you will be expected to communicate professionally with faculty members, staff members, administrators, and current and prospective students. Due to the many aspects of the position that pertain to design of promotional/recruitment materials, we are looking for someone who is creative, and has prior experience with basic graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva). The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and be willing to take initiative on projects that align with your skills and interests. We are looking for a candidate who would be willing to work as a GA on our project for the duration of their time at SCSU and we are able to offer hourly summer pay for the ideal candidate.
