The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment
The GA will support the ongoing research studies that are conducted by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. The GA will have the opportunity to learn and utilize a number of survey development (SnapSurvey, Qualtrics) and data management/analytical (Excel, SPSS) software packages in support of the work done by the Office. The GA will also play a role in training and supporting undergraduate student workers, ensuring the accuracy of their data entry and similar tasks. This position is 20 hours/week.
Qualifications: Applicants must be a matriculated graduate student at SCSU and must be enrolled full-time (9 credits or more) in the Fall 2024 semester. Ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills; strong attention to detail; solid experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., excel, word, power point); first-rate writing skills; and an interest and aptitude for research and assessment. Applicants can expect to have the position renewed in the Spring 2025 semester contingent upon funding and/or the successful completion of tasks and responsibilities in the Fall 2024 semester.

Southern continues to receive a state department of education grant which supports new haven public school students. This program offers supports and services to 50 high school students and supports them in their pursuit to apply and enter college after they graduate high school. The program implements various programs, workshops, college classes, etc to support the students. The program is looking for 2 Graduate Assistants to work together and help lead and implement the program specifics. This position would be for 20 hours a week.
