The Graduate Student Research and Creativity Conference celebrates the scholarship, creativity, and professional work of graduate students who have been engaged in projects over the past year. The conference invites graduate students from all disciplines to submit proposals for presentations, performances, and exhibits.
Created to highlight graduate student research, support professional development, and foster an interdisciplinary community, graduate students are transforming ideas into impactful contributions that advance their fields and strengthen the communities they serve.
The Graduate Research and Creativity Conference will be held on Monday, May 4th, 4:30pm – 8pm in the Adanti Student Center Ballroom on the 3rd floor.

Presentation Categories
Students may submit in one of the following categories:
1. Oral Presentation
This type of presentation requires one presentation, 10-12 minutes in length, where you summarize the results of your research, creative activity, or applied practice and are supported by a digital slideshow. Oral presentations are grouped by area or, at times, be from a variety of backgrounds. Expect a Q&A to follow your presentation and each oral presentation within your session. Audience members may come and go throughout your session.
A device will be present in the room for use during the presentation. However, we recommend that you bring your personal device to minimize troubleshooting.
2. Poster Presentation
Visual display of research, project findings, or creative scholarship.
3. Organized Panel
An Organized Panel consisting of 3 – 5 Oral Presentations, or a Roundtable discussion, with 4-6 participants, focused around a central theme. Each individual presentation is 10-12 minutes in length.
Eligibility
- Open to all SCSU graduate students
- Individual or group submissions welcome
- Projects may be completed or in progress(all stages of completion)
Abstract Requirements
- Maximum 250 words
- Clearly state the purpose, methods/approach, results or outcomes, and significance/impact
Your faculty advisor must approve your proposal before submission.

Poster Resources
Buley library provides poster templates and design tips for students as well as printing services.
This year (2026), the Graduate Student Association will be covering the cost of poster production (24×36 color posters (no foam backing, no lamination) for graduate students participating in the Graduate Research and Creativity conference.
To make use of this, graduate students will fill out the Poster Request form. For Academic department, program, major, organization, or class, Please enter “Graduate Conference”. Under “How will you be paying”, enter Department Chargeback. Leave the Banner Finance Index Code blank.
The GSA sponsored poster printing will only be available from April 12-27. If graduate students submit after these dates, they will incur the cost of the printing. GSA will only cover the cost of the 24×36 color posters (no foam backing or lamination). If they choose to include foam or lamination, or select a larger size, GSA will not cover the cost and the student will be charged.
