Founded in 1897, and with over 300 chapters, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.
More than 1.75 million members have joined its ranks since Phi Kappa Phi’s founding in 1897 at the University of Maine. It is a global network of the best and brightest, a community of scholars and professionals building an enduring legacy for all generations.
Eligibility
Membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is earned, and admission is by invitation only. An invitation to join requires nomination by a chapter.
- Juniors must have completed at least 72 semester hours/108 quarter hours and rank in the top 7.5% of their class.
- Seniors must have completed at least 90 semester hours/135 quarter hours and rank in the top 10% of their class.
- Graduate and professional students must have completed at least 18 semester hours/ 27 quarter hours at their institution and rank in the top 10% of their class.
In special cases, students with an exceptional GPA, and faculty, professional staff, and alumni who achieve scholarly distinction may also be eligible.
